Pedro Nuno Santos poses for a portrait between the legislators of Socialist party and left bloc inside Portuguese parliament in Lisbon, Portugal June 21, 2016. The resignation also left Costa's job as secretary-general of the Socialist Party (PS) up for grabs, and whoever wins the leadership race will run for prime minister. Although Nuno Santos' popularity was hurt after he resigned in December 2022 in a scandal around a severance payout by state-owned airline TAP, he is seen as the front-runner by many. Nuno Santos successfully coordinated support for a previous minority government with the far-left in 2015-2019. A Ryanair passenger fell down the aircraft steps while disembarking and broke her leg, per El Periódico. The budget airline has been ordered to pay her $33,000 in compensation. Local outlet Diario de Seville reported that the woman was holding the staircase handrail and carrying luggage when she suffered the "horrendous fall." That allows for the budget airline to save on airport fees for jet bridges or stair cars. But the judge at the Commercial Court of Seville said the Ryanair plane's staircase "was especially narrow and steep," per El Periódico.

A Jet2 passenger was reportedly tasered by police and removed from the plane for "unruly" behavior. He prompted the plane to land unscheduled on a Portuguese island 330 miles from its destination. A passenger on a flight to a Spanish holiday destination has been arrested and detained by Portuguese police for "disobedience" after being accused of "disorderly" behavior on a flight, The Scottish Daily Express reported. A Jet2 spokesperson told the MailOnline that the plane was diverted to "offload a disruptive passenger," which "subsequently delayed" a later flight from Tenerife to Edinburgh. Earlier this month, a "drunk" British Jet2 passenger had to be restrained by plane staff after threatening to open the aircraft door, the MailOnline reported, causing an emergency landing in Bulgaria.

“Let’s go, little ones,” barked Juan Ajenjo — Popeye, who does not have achondroplasia — using the term the performers also used to describe one another. In the business for 42 years, he had seen the number of shows crater in the last 15. “The politicians don’t want the little ones to work.”But work they did. Unlike their gigs as waiters or as entertainment in discos, this was a performance they took pride in, several of them said. “We’re not OK with the bullfighting,” said Mariano Mateo, 66, a retired psychology professor, who got a flier.

MEXICO CITY, April 24 (Reuters) - Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is receiving medical treatment and self-isolating after testing positive for COVID-19, the country's Interior Minister Adan Augusto said Monday in a morning press conference. Augusto said that Lopez Obrador was at the presidential headquarters and that the president had shown cold-like symptoms since Saturday. He denied a media report that the president had suffered a heart attack. This is the third known COVID-19 diagnosis for Lopez Obrador, 69, who had a serious heart attack in 2013. He reported mild symptoms from both of his previous bouts of COVID-19 at the height of the pandemic.
LISBON, Sept 22 (Reuters) - Portugal's flag carrier TAP told customers on Thursday that hackers had stolen some of their personal data and published it on the dark web, although the state-owed airline said all payment details appeared to be safe. "The release of the personal data via open sources could increase the risk of their illegal use, namely aimed at obtaining other data that could compromise the digital systems in fraudulent attempts such as phishing," TAP said.
